- find for not hearing the sound is if you have the M) command in
- your modem set up string! (I use ATDT all of the time and all of
- the applilcations I run use ATDT but the only ones which use a
- string that includes the M0 command conenct with no sound. If
- you dont use M0 and do not hear the connection you may have a
- defective modem!
